This past weekend, two talented ASD choir students had the honor of being accepted into the prestigious AMIS European High School Choir, hosted at the American School of Warsaw in Poland.
This marked the first time that American School Dhahran has participated in this esteemed event. The choir brought together 100 students from international schools across Europe and the Middle East, all under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Jeffrey Murdock, a Grammy Award-winning music educator and choral conductor.
The performance featured a diverse range of music, spanning from baroque compositions by Antonio Vivaldi to 20th-century classics, including the iconic “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. The highlight of the concert was a powerful collaboration between students and teachers, who performed a traditional American Gospel song that brought the audience to their feet with a standing ovation.
Congratulations to our ASD choir students for their acceptance into this remarkable event and for their outstanding performance. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication, which truly represented the spirit of ASD!
