Week Without Walls (WOW Week) is a highly anticipated event at ASD that offers students and staff a change from the typical classroom routine. It is a time to engage in hands-on learning, team-building activities and experiences that inspire creativity and foster a sense of community.
The purpose of WOW Week extends beyond the activities themselves—it’s about the connections we make and the ways in which we learn and grow together. Some of the key focuses of WOW Week include:
This week is designed to spark new interests, develop new skills and offer a fun and memorable experience for all involved. The activities are meant to be engaging and impactful, creating lasting memories and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere throughout the school.
Student Reflections:
From virtual mystery games to karaoke, yoga and sports games, there was something for everyone. Elementary students had a blast with sensory and environmental activities, including cardboard building, sensory bottles and planters. Additionally, educational field trips to places like Nada Dairy Farm, the American University of Bahrain, Ithra and Scitech offered valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom. It was truly inspiring to see everyone having fun, building teamwork, and embracing all the exciting opportunities throughout the week.
WOW Week is more than just a break from routine—it’s an opportunity to come together, discover new passions and strengthen the bonds of our ASD community. We look forward to carrying the energy and excitement of this week forward into the rest of the year.
