Two high school students took the initiative to create the Future Engineers club at ASD. Over the summer, they worked diligently to ensure its successful launch, recognizing that while many students from the school pursue STEM fields, they could offer a dedicated platform for engineering.
The club, which has quickly gained 30 enthusiastic members, has exciting plans for the year ahead. Among their goals are organizing a field trip to an engineering company, giving students hands-on experience with real-world engineering applications. The club also plans to host an engineering career fair, inviting professionals from various engineering fields to engage with students, answer questions, and provide insight into potential career paths.
This week, the club held an inspiring Engineering Career Talk with Elie Chaiban, with more than 23 years of experience at PepsiCo and a strong engineering background. Chaiban shared valuable insights, motivating students to pursue their engineering dreams and make a meaningful impact.
The club’s mission is to educate, guide, and provide resources to help students pursue careers in engineering. With real-world examples, internships, and a wealth of opportunities, the club is committed to empowering the next generation of engineers.
ASD is proud to support the innovative initiatives that come from our students. Their efforts not only help them grow as individuals but also allow them to give back to their peers. This reflects the spirit of our school, where student-driven initiatives are embraced - demonstrating the values we stand for at ASD.
