ASD’s Parent Teacher Group (PTG) hosted an informative morning session on Thursday, highlighting the essential role that counselors and librarians play in helping ASD students thrive and giving parents the opportunity to meet and engage with our dedicated team.
Each counselor introduced themselves and outlined their unique role in providing tailored support to students across the elementary, middle and high school levels. The session served as a valuable introduction to the wide range of services our counselors offer to support student success in academics, social-emotional development and future planning.
Our counselors work closely with students to ensure their academic progress and personal growth, offering guidance on effective study habits, organization and time management. Beyond academics, our team prioritizes the social-emotional wellbeing of each student, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience through one-on-one sessions, group workshops and peer support programs.
High School counselors also provide comprehensive college and career counseling, assisting students in exploring their options, preparing for the application process and making informed choices about their future.
Librarians shared insights into their ongoing efforts to foster a love of reading and support literacy development across grade levels. Parents also learned about upcoming initiatives for the academic year, including new resources and services available to students.
The session fostered open communication between school staff and families, allowing for valuable collaboration as the year progresses. The PTG’s continued efforts to bring parents closer to the school community ensure that everyone is well-informed and engaged in the academic and personal growth of their children.
