Hands-On Learning and Exploring the Heart in Anatomy and Physiology

At ASD, we are committed to preparing our students for the future by integrating innovative and interactive teaching methods that foster deeper learning and critical thinking. In a recent anatomy and physiology class, our high school students had the opportunity to explore the complexities of the human heart in a hands-on and engaging way.

Through the dissection of a sheep heart, students gained a practical understanding of the heart’s anatomy and its essential role in the circulatory system. This immersive experience allowed them to observe how oxygen moves in and out of the heart, providing invaluable insight into the vital functions that keep the body alive.

By incorporating such interactive learning opportunities, our teachers create an environment where students are encouraged to engage with the material actively, ask questions and develop the problem-solving skills they will need in the future. At ASD, we believe this approach not only enhances academic performance but also equips students with the knowledge and skills to thrive in an ever-changing world.
