ISG Jubail Students Get Hollywood Insights for Their Film Projects

Elementary students recently had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to speak with Hollywood director Erin Feeley and editor/producer Pete Beaudreau via a video call—an inspiring highlight of their ongoing film project.

The students began by researching the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and then developed realistic fiction stories based on their chosen issues. They explored short film examples, produced storyboards and took on filming, acting and directing roles to create four-minute films that address global challenges.

Their final step involves editing these mini-movies and crafting soundtracks in their music classes. Ms. Feeley and Mr. Beaudreau kindly watched the works-in-progress and shared valuable feedback on storytelling, technical aspects and industry practices. Ms. Feeley shared her experience working on TV shows and the film All is Lost.

Mr. Beaudreau offered insights from his work on Marvel TV shows and movies, as well as Margin Call, a film starring Demi Moore, Jeremy Irons and Kevin Spacey. They also discussed their career journeys, the challenges and rewards of filmmaking.

Our students left the session excited and eager to apply this professional advice as they refine their films. We can’t wait to premiere these inspiring short films at our third annual Elementary Film Festival at the local movie theater!
