The U16 Girls' Football team traveled to Jeddah for this year’s SAIKAC tournament, competing with just eight players who demonstrated remarkable grit, resilience and outstanding stamina over two intense days. The team showed excellent endurance considering only having one sub, thus all players met their roles and responsibilities to the highest of standards.
Our captain led by example, showcasing precision and power as she scored several impressive goals from long range, catching goalkeepers off guard. The girls fought hard throughout the tournament and reached the 3rd place match against our neighboring school. After dominating much of the 30-minute game, the match was decided by penalties.
With the score level after the first five takers, it came down to sudden death—where our outstanding defender stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom corner, securing BSD’s 3rd place finish in U16 Girls’ Football SAIKAC!
Another fantastic season and another well-earned medal for our football girls. Thank you to coaches Jennifer Gilbert and Andrew Hepworth.
