The middle school robotics team competed against the high school robotics team in a First Lego League competition on Monday, December 9.
Students have spent weeks building robots with Lego pieces and setting the code for the robots to complete specific missions. The missions were the same for both groups, and during the competition, teams had to have their robots go through the particular challenges in a set amount of time.
The challenges included moving pieces from one part of the table to another, lifting a mast on a boat, latching two pieces together and depositing legos into a container. Seeing the robots move around the board and accomplish their tasks was exhilarating.
The event was an excellent opportunity for the students to see their code in action and refine and retune what they have created in anticipation of the district robotics ISG jamboree, planned for February 2025.
