Junior DAMMUN Debuts with Remarkable Success

The Middle School Model United Nations club at ISG Dammam had an incredibly successful inaugural Junior MUN conference (JDAMMUN) on Saturday, December 7.

The event was attended by over 125 students from five different schools from the Eastern Province.  Students engaged in a day of debate in committees, examining diverse topics such as the regulation of autonomous weapons and advancements in the early detection of diseases.

Each student was assigned a country and had to come to agreements and make resolutions regarding their issue while promoting the values and ideals of their assigned country.

At the end of the day of debates, each committee devised a resolution that best met the diverse countries' needs.  Winners were selected in each committee, and ISG Dammam students were victorious in several committees, winning Best Delegate in the Human Rights Council (HRC), Best Chair for the World Health Organization Committee (WHO), and Honorable Mention in the General Assembly (GA).

We are so proud of our students and their excitement in engaging in debates on such vital topics.
