Elementary Student Council Assembly Focuses on Environmental Responsibility

The Elementary Student Council, led by Mr. Laing, recently held an engaging assembly for upper elementary students on the importance of taking care of our environment. The assembly, held in the school’s multipurpose room, began with a creative and thought-provoking twist: trash was deliberately placed around the room. Students asked their peers, "Do you notice anything in the room?" prompting them to reflect on the mess and their role in maintaining a clean space.

The student-led assembly featured an interactive presentation and catchy songs that captivated the students' attention, making the topic both fun and educational. The council emphasized the importance of recycling and being responsible for the waste we see around us.

Teaching children the importance of environmental responsibility is key to helping them develop a lasting commitment to caring for the planet. This assembly helped remind students that even small actions, like properly disposing of trash and recycling, can have a big impact on keeping earth clean and healthy.
