Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition Brings the Community Together

The Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition, organized by the Middle School Student Council (MS StuCo) and led by Mrs. Inge in collaboration with Advanced Design teacher Mr. Treska, recently brought students, staff and families together for a fun and challenging event. In teams they formed themselves, participants were tasked with building a bridge using only spaghetti and glue, all while meeting specific weight and length requirements.

The competition’s winners were determined by testing the strength of their bridges. A hook was placed on each bridge, connected to a bucket and water was gradually added to the bucket to see how many cups the bridge could hold before breaking.

While rewards and certificates were given to the winning teams, the true highlight of the event was the laughter, smiles and sense of teamwork that filled the air. The competition not only challenged participants’ creativity and engineering skills but also created a strong sense of community as families, staff and students worked together. It was a night full of fun, collaboration and shared memories for all involved.
