The elementary school is excited to begin their training for their annual Speak Out, with the theme this year of “Young Voices, Big Dreams.”
Speak Out is a dynamic event designed to elevate students' public speaking and listening skills and empower them with the confidence to shine. Through this initiative, all students will engage in a supportive environment that promotes growth in communication while ensuring they meet key educational objectives.
The training program continued with two high school students modeling best practices in speech delivery to our grade 1-5 students. Two grade 12 students showed how to effectively engage the audience through hand gestures, voice inflection, tone and speed. They taught the students to use stories and personal examples to help reinforce the purpose of the speech.
Our grade 1-5 students could watch the speeches and identify what went well, which will guide them as they prepare for their Speak Out event, which will take place later this semester.
