Avid Readers Celebration

Our elementary students have been learning about what it takes to become an avid reader.

Avid readers take every opportunity to read and draw connections within books.  Students are learning to read everywhere and anywhere, finding different places  to read, and learning how to feel what characters are feeling.

ISG Dammam students had an avid reader’s celebration on Monday, May 27, sharing about their favorite character with their friends. Students prepared placards with pictures from the stories they read and demonstrated the feelings of their characters by using finger puppets.

The interactive and engaging activities helped our students express and explain how to decipher a character’s emotions from a text.
