ISG Dammam’s middle school and high school MUN students participated in a MUN competition at the French International School of Khobar on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.
Eight students from the middle school competed and four of our high school students helped to chair committees for the event. Students engaged in spirited and lively debate, focusing on a wide variety of topics including waste management, equity of education for women and girls, mitigating the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities and how to address the rising challenges of cybercrime.
The conference was attended by over 300 students from across the Eastern Province and included student delegations from both international and local Saudi Arabian schools.
Our ISG Dammam student delegates came home with three awards including best new delegate in a committee and two best delegate awards. ISG Dammam has a robust MUN program for grades 6-12, attending conferences both locally and internationally over the school year.
Appreciation goes to Ms. Shaista Akbar and Ms. Muna Brookshire for their efforts in preparing the students to participate in the competition.
