Secondary Library Teaching Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting Librarians in coordinating library materials and lessons for Middle and High School Students.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
  • Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly-defined and documented curriculum for students
  • Maintain a safe learning environment for students at all times
  • Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs in the library
  • Work effectively with Librarians to coordinate library skill instruction for individual classes or groups
  • Assist with transitions during and between classes
  • Organize classrooms, work centers, and activity areas
  • Maintain instructional supplies, materials, and equipment
  • Demonstrate creativity
  • Help Librarians support growth and interest in reading for children and young adults

Qualifications and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:


  • Previous experience working in Library (Preferred)
  • Experience with MS Office/Excel/Google docs


  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
