Summary

The Little Explorers Center provides educational daycare for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years of age, of staff working on the Dammam Campus.

The Little Explorers Center is seeking a Teacher Assistant who will work under the supervision of the Center’s Supervisor and as a part of the Center’s team to provide a stimulating and caring Early Years environment for children aged from six weeks to three years of age.

 

 

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
  • Follow policy and procedure, instruction or work on own initiative as necessary
  • Together with the Little Explorers Supervisor plan, participate in, and supervise a wide range of activities that promote each child’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development, including speech and language development
  • Work with a key group of children under the supervision of the Little Explorers Supervisor to provide a stimulating and creative environment in which children feel confident and gain the necessary preschool skills and knowledge
  • Under the supervision of the Little Explorers Supervisor, support children to acquire the personal skills for school readiness, including: eating (feeding oneself), dressing, diaper changing and toilet training
  • Observe and respond appropriately to the range of individual needs, abilities, and concerns
  • Observe for and respond appropriately to any health-related concerns of the child
  • Under the supervision of the Little Explorers Supervisor implement schedule of activities, including: lunch, snack, rest period, and all other duties required for the care of the enrolled children
  • Ensure the safety of the children in the program
  • Help to maintain overall safety and good hygiene of all nursery facilities, participants, and staff
  • Actively participate in Early Childhood Education in-services
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Little Explorers Supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals
  • Implement health and safety standards
  • Work as part of a team and function effectively
  • Engage, establish, and maintain positive, loving and disciplined relationships with young children
  • Enjoy working in an Early Years environment
  • Be understanding, consistent and fair and show good judgment and discretion
  • Be calm, self-controlled, and able to work under pressure
  • Be able to deal with upset children calmly
  • Have a professional positive work ethic, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Perform other duties assigned by your Principal
Qualifications and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
  • An understanding of children’s development
