The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

• Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum
• Deliver an active, hands-on, and student-centered program to promote learning in mathematics and science courses
• Maintain students attendance records, grades, and other required records
• Evaluate and grade students’ class work and assignments
• Observe, monitor, and record student progress
• Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional learning
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues
• Demonstrate creativity
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Assistant Principal
