International Schools Group Saudi Arabia (ISG) seeks an Athletics & Activities Coordinator for the Dammam Campus, effective August 18, 2019.

At ISG we believe a strong extra-curricular program can partner with the district’s overall academic program to help prepare students for a lifetime of success and enjoyment. ISG’s programs comprise competitive and non-competitive sports and after-school activities, including performing arts and service learning opportunities. The Athletics & Activities Coordinator  will be a positive, collaborative liaison for the school. The successful candidate will continue to implement the current programs in place, whilst also working towards further developing ISG’s athletic and activity programs.

The Athletics & Activities Coordinator joins a campus leadership team of the school Head of School, Assistant Principals, and District Office administrators.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

  • Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)

  • Provide overall supervision, management, and direction of the extra- and co-curricular programs for the school on the Dammam campus

  • Liaise with the Athletics and Activities Coordinators at ISG’s other schools, in terms of support, and to schedule inter-school contests

  • Ensure activities are conducted in safe manner, and are representative of ISG’s core values

  • Establish and communicate clear and timely information with students and parents for each activity consistent with the objectives, requirements, and expectations of the program

  • Maintain good relations with partner Saudi Arabia Intra-Kingdom Athletics Conference (SAIK-AC) schools, and other partners

  • Participate fully in leadership meetings

  • Set and hold staff accountable to high standards for performance

  • Recruit high-quality coaches and advisors

  • Ensure coaches and advisors uphold the rules and requirements of ISG and of SAIK-AC

  • Provide guidelines and criteria to coaches and advisors through a Handbook

  • Coordinate and organize student travel and hosting

  • Schedule and book venues and facilities, resolving conflicts as they occur

  • Arrange officials/referees/judges; mediate disagreements between coaches/sponsors and referees

  • Lead the scheduling and directing of tournaments and events

  • Liaise with Catering and Support Services for program set-up needs and facility maintenance

  • Maintain accurate rosters, as needed

  • Assist coaches/advisors with the inventory of all uniforms and supplies, and arrange for team photos

  • Plan and execute special events, e.g. MS and HS athletic banquets, ordering plaques, trophies and awards when needed, preparing event certificates and thank-you letters

  • Order materials and approve/supervise expenditures for each activity

  • Help to identify team parent sponsors/chaperones

  • Represent the school at conferences, AD networking events and any other activities involving participation of ISG teams/groups

  • Systematically assess and monitor performance of coaches and advisors

  • Collaborate with parents and students to ensure open and honest communication throughout the ISG community

  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of International Schools Group organizational policies, practices and procedures

  • Prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met

Qualifications and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, prefer a Masters or Advanced Degree

  • Knowledge of current trends in American, British and international education

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:


  • Previous experience, preferably as an Athletics or Activities Coordinator

  • International school experience and teaching experience

  • Proven track record in collaboratively leading change and school improvement initiatives


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral

  • Make decisions and act, with ISGs guiding principles and system goals at the forefront

  • Model ISGs core values

  • Ability to effectively collaborate and promote collaboration amongst ISG schools
