Typing Challenge

Dear Parents,

The safety of our students and staff at ISG is always our highest priority and our teams are constantly working on improving old procedures to ensure that our campuses are a safe environment for all.  Vehicle stickers are now mandatory for any car entering our ASD and BSD campus.  Your school Principal sent out a reminder this week to issue your vehicle sticker before Sunday, January 22.  You can request a vehicle sticker for every vehicle you use to enter campus.  Thank you for helping us keep ISG a safe and secure environment for all.

The friendly nature of our Jamborees gives coaches and students the opportunity to practice training ground routines in a competitive environment before their main tournaments, whether it be SAIKAC in Kingdom, or NESAC, OASIS or BSME, which are all overseas conferences that ISG schools are involved in. This year, the ISG Jamborees have proved to be extremely successful in achieving this.  You can watch a short recap of last weekend’s Football Jamboree, and see some of the photos captured during the Badminton Jamboree that took place on the same day.

Here’s a throwback to This is a Test, a performance that happened at ISG Jubail in November 2022.  Middle and high School students rehearsed twice a week starting in September.  The play was directed and produced by Ms. Lorelei Loveridge, ISG Jubail’s Drama teacher, and Molly Dunphy, a high school student.  Middle school actors working with high school actors is an important  element of this teacher-directed ASA.  Stay tuned this term for more performances in ISG Jubail in the Short Short Play Fest, which will feature short 10-minute plays completely produced and directed by the ISG Jubail high school students.

I’m happy to announce that book fairs are back! ASD and BSD will have a joint book fair starting January 29.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to browse a new selection of books and find something new that sparks their interest. In contrast to previous book fairs, students will be able to purchase their books on the spot. More information will be shared through your school.

Currently there are 314 students across our ISG schools who are actively participating in the monthly typing challenge.  Given the interest, we would like to open up the opportunity for parents and staff to take part and learn the skill of touch typing.  Please use this link to create an account and join the challenge.  After creating your account you can login and practice using this link.  Please contact BSD Technology Coordinator for assistance.

Best wishes,

Michael P. Mack
