Saudi National Day 2023

Dear Parents,

The theme for the 93rd Saudi National Day is “We Dream, We Achieve” and recognizes the Kingdom’s commitment to unity, growth and development.  I wish you all a Happy Saudi National Day and hope you enjoy the festivities this weekend.  Reminder: Schools will be closed on Sunday, September 24.  Classes will resume on Monday, September 25.  Enjoy the long weekend!

The American School Dhahran welcomed parents back to school in an Open House event on Saturday.  Parents followed an adjusted version of their children’s schedule, met with teachers and learned about the curriculum and requirements for each class.  Open House was followed by a university preparation session for seniors and their families.  If you missed the presentation, please contact Ms. Mona Lewars for more information.

The British School Dhahran held an information session on Monday to clarify the UK University Fee Status.  If you were unable to attend and would like to receive that presentation, please contact

The ISG Alumni Association is holding a friendly Alumni Sports Meet on December 3, 2023.  Please share this information with your children who have attended or graduated from any of our ISG schools.  To gauge interest, please ask them to fill out this interest form.  A separate registration form will be circulated in the coming weeks.

October 3, 2023 is a scheduled Virtual School Day across ISG.  ISG operates a virtual school day each year to be prepared for any event that would require us to conduct our learning online (rain days, sand storms, etc.).  This allows our students to become familiar with the platforms and provides our teachers with the opportunity to practice and hone their skills on this approach to learning.  Students will not come to school on this day.  Instead, they will participate in an adjusted schedule attending classes and completing both synchronous and asynchronous assignments online.  More detailed information for students and parents will be shared by each school in the coming weeks.  Students will go back to their regular, in-person learning on October 4.

Best wishes,

Michael P. Mack
