ISG Jubail High School Students Bake "Pan de Muerto”

ISG Jubail high school students recently embarked on a flavorful cultural journey by learning to make "Pan de Muerto," a traditional Mexican bread enjoyed during the Day of the Dead festivities. By following the recipe instructions in Spanish, students not only practiced their language skills but also engaged in a hands-on baking experience.

This activity was designed to deepen their understanding of traditional Spanish cuisine while encouraging participation and experiential learning. Instead of merely studying the culture, students immersed themselves in it by creating the bread themselves, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.

The Day of the Dead, celebrated on November 1 and 2, honors deceased loved ones and is a time for families to come together in remembrance. Through this baking project, students gained insight into the cultural significance of Pan de Muerto, enriching their appreciation for Mexican traditions.

Overall, this culinary activity was a delightful blend of language learning and cultural exploration, highlighting vibrant traditions.
