Week without Walls allowed students from ISG Dammam to travel within and outside Saudi Arabia. This special week of experiential learning started with our grade 9-11 students traveling to Prague, Czech Republic, to enjoy a week of exploring and engaging with the community. Students learned about the local homeless population and provided meals for them. They explored street art culture and experimented with their own street art. Students visited the famous Prague Castle and tried local Czech cuisine. It was a week of adventure, independence and excitement as our students engaged in a new culture for the week.
A group of grade 7 and 8 students from ISG Dammam and ISG Jubail enjoyed a dynamic and engaging week camping on the Arabian Gulf in Bahrain for their WOW Week adventure. Partnering with a local organization, the students participated in a week of physical and team challenges to push them out of their comfort zones, teach them the importance of working together and help them to appreciate the beautiful natural environment. They also participated in beach clean-up efforts to make sure the beautiful environment is preserved for future generations. The students were delighted with the experience, primarily partnering with ISG Jubail students, strengthening our ISG community. Students learned to work together, communicate effectively, try new things and face complex challenges. It was a fantastic experience for all involved!
Our grade 6 students at ISG Dammam explored the local culture of Al Ahsa, partnering with a local organization to experience all that Al Ahsa has to offer. Students learned about local customs and culture, enjoying a date festival and local music and food. They participated in a pottery class, learning from artisans about the techniques developed in the region. They toured the old town of Al Ahsa visiting local vendors. Finally, students explored the majestic caves of Al Ahsa, basking in the region's natural wonder. It was an exciting opportunity for them to explore and engage with the community and experience these events with their peers.
