Highlights from the Recent PTO Meeting at ISG Jubail

The recent Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting at ISG Jubail proved to be a productive and engaging event, bringing together parents, staff and administration to foster community involvement and support for our school.

Opening Business

The meeting commenced with an introduction to the PTO, highlighting its vision, purpose and opportunities for collaboration. An explanation of Robert’s Rules of Order was provided to ensure smooth and orderly discussions throughout the meeting.

Reports

The principal’s report included updates on the Jubail Journal, emphasizing its role in keeping parents informed about school activities and student achievements. The secretary reviewed the minutes from the September meeting, while the treasurer provided insights into the current financial standing of the PTO. Additionally, the president discussed the formation of parent WhatsApp groups for each grade level, enhancing communication among parents and the PTO. Information about various committees was shared, encouraging parents to sign up and get involved.

New Business

Voting for key board positions—Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer—took place during the meeting, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the PTO. A proposal for the school-year activities calendar was discussed, along with the upcoming World Teacher Day on October 6. The school nurse, Jami, also made a request for support, which was well-received by attendees. A round table discussion provided an opportunity for community input on various topics, ensuring all voices were heard.

The meeting concluded with announcements about the next PTO-sponsored activity and the date for the next regular meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
