BSD Celebrates World Book Day with a Week of Reading and Fun

British School Dhahran students celebrated World Book Day with a fun and exciting Book Fair from April 20 to 24. Students from all year levels enjoyed exploring a wide variety of books and picking stories that sparked their interest and love for reading. Many came dressed as their favorite book characters or titles, adding color and creativity to the week.

During the KS2 Assembly, students took part in a special play where they brought their favorite book characters to life on stage, delighting the audience with their performances. They also joined in fun activities like book quizzes and “Guess the Teacher’s Shelf,” making the event even more enjoyable.

A special highlight was the visit from authors Ali Sparkes and Siobhan McDermott on Thursday, April 24. They shared their stories, answered questions, and inspired students with their love for writing. It was a great chance for students to meet real authors and learn more about books and storytelling. The whole week was a joyful celebration of reading, imagination and creativity at BSD.
