Mark was employed by ISG (then SAIS) along with his wife in the school year 1987. He taught PE, Music and ran the school library in what was then a 240-student British School in Jubail, which catered for pupils 4-13 years of age in those days. Within a few years he became one of two teaching deputy heads before eventually taking over as Head Teacher of the Jubail British School in 2000. In 2004, the two ISG schools in Jubail merged and he became the overall site administrator, introducing the International Primary Curriculum to the 4-12 year olds with an American grade 7-10 stream at the top end of the school.
In 2010, ISG appointed Mr. Wootton to open a new Primary school for BAE, situated on their new compound in Al Khobar. He completed his Masters Degree in 2012.
