John Rutten Dammam PrincipalJohn Rutten - Principal, ISG Dammam

Mr. Rutten graduated from Bemidji State University (USA) in 1981 and finished his M. Ed. in Guidance and Counseling in 1992 from North Dakota State. He continued his studies in Administration and Leadership at TriCollege in Moorhead, MN and received his Specialist degree in 2001.

Mr. Rutten worked as an elementary teacher in El Salvador, Bolivia, and Pakistan before returning to the US. He then became an elementary school guidance counselor for seven years in rural Minnesota. Later he served as an assistant elementary principal, elementary principal and high school principal in Minnesota before returning to the overseas life as Principal at ISG Dammam.

 Current initiatives at ISG Dammam

  • ISG Dammam has concentrated on meeting our accreditation (AFG) goals by providing focused professional development on mathematics, reading, and writing.
  • Promoting 21st Century Learning with our teachers and students by making technology a priority. Students and staff use these tools to collaborate, create & communicate.
  • DMM has worked hard to increase professional development for all staff. We have instituted “coaching” in Arabic Language, Language Arts, Math, and tech integration. The goal is to increase the capacity of our teaching staff while getting our students to learn through discovery.
